Wonderful News!!!
It’s with a full heart that I share the most extraordinary news: I will be the Artist in Residence for Victoria Magazine for 2026. Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine this a possibility for me.
I’m thankful for the editors, the stylists, the photographers at Victoria who generously use their talents to share my work with their lovely readers. It all astonishes me. That they have seen something in my work worthy of their pages is a gift I receive with profound humility.
My gratitude extends further to you who have followed along, some from the very first first days that I dared share my first brushstrokes with you. You who have collected, encouraged, written, sent kindnesses.
This comes, too, after another wonderful good news—a couple pieces of mine soon to be seen in The Cottage Journal, this autumn and again in the in their Spring 2026 issue. Some of this makes me feel like all those bachelor buttons, poppies, and now zinnias which have self-seeded in the least expected places offering the most delightful surprises.
And speaking of wildness, the garden—oh, my mess of a garden! The baby rabbits, now grown, have left my strawberry bed but now come to only to eat, have been followed by a new character in this ever-turning novel: a mother turkey has claimed one of my flower beds as her own, nesting there, guarding her dozen eggs. I hope to soon see endearingly awkward baby turkeys.
I have managed a bit of painting and a few new works are complete and are now available waiting for their next home.
Thank you, again and again. May your weekend be filled with joy and beauty!!!
Hugs,
Carolina
