It was ninth grade and we were in geometry class when I heard a nice, strong voice behind me. When I turned to see who it was, I saw a cute guy in a white, long sleeve shirt and a bolo tie (it was the early nineties- the time of Garth Brooks and George Strait). I was smitten. So, I would stand at the second floor window in our social studies class and watch him get off the bus.
We eventually began to talked. I still have a pair of leggings on which I drew daisies with a sharpie during one of long evenings on the phone, only to wake up to black sharpie dots all over my legs the next day. We talked about nothing and everything, as those kind of conversations go.
Well, Robert and I graduated in May, 1994. On August 10 we had our first child, a 2 pound 1 ounce beautiful little girl. She is now 24. On August 16, still at the hospital with nurses congratulating us, we were married. Yes, my nineteenth year was a busy one. Five years later we had our second child and we were complete.
Through our ups and downs, I knew one thing- that I love Robert with all my heart and that he loves me. Twenty-five years later, it's still what I know.
